Top Intel Competitors across the World

Intel is the world’s largest semiconductor company. They design and manufacture the microprocessors (CPUs) used in the vast majority of computers, laptops, and mobile devices. Intel is one of the biggest semiconductor manufacturers in the world, and it competes with companies like AMD, Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Samsung. Bigger than all of those, however, is Qualcomm, with the largest market share of chipsets.

TSMC
TSMC is the largest semiconductor foundry in the world, with over $18 billion in revenues and over 3,400 employees worldwide. Since its founding in 1987, TSMC has grown from a $200 million to a $18 billion company with a presence in 19 countries. Most of the company’s strategy revolves around the development of semiconductor manufacturing equipment for the production of chips for the computing, telecommunications, automotive, and other industries.

AMD
AMD’s Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 3 2200G—the two fastest mobile processors AMD has ever shipped—performed admirably in our recently published CPU benchmarks. For the most part, we were pleased with the performance of these chips, but it’s worth noting that their total performance lagged behind rival chips from Intel. With this in mind, we decided to revisit our data and see how AMD’s latest mobile processors stacked up against Intel’s latest chips.

NVIDIA
NVIDIA is a famous American tech firm that is most known for designing the (graphics processing unit) chip. The chip is used in the majority of all computers, smartphones, and other mobile devices. The company is also known for their innovations in the industry and more recently they were known for their PC gaming innovations.

IBM
IBM is a company that is the largest in the world, and manages to stay a frontrunner in their industry. IBM is one of the few companies that make machines that are used by the people of other companies, in a business called “outsourcing”. The machines that IBM makes are used to make other machines, like the ones in your home.

Samsung
Samsung has been around since 1938, but it wasn’t until 1988 that the company began to turn around. Thanks to the introduction of the first 3D-LCD TV, the company’s revenue doubled from 1988 to 1990. The company’s flagship phone, the Samsung SPH-D700, was released in 1990, and set a new standard for the company. The SPH-D700’s 16-bit color display and low-profile keyboard design significantly boosted the popularity of the then-new mobile phone in Asia.

Qualcomm
Qualcomm is the ultimate one-stop shop for all of your mobile needs. It’s the largest foundry in the world, as well as a leader in 5G technologies and software. Qualcomm makes a number of other mobile products, including high-end smartphones, wireless modems, and baseband processors.
